Meeting with a wedding planner can be a little scary and unpredictable at first. Typically, one doesn’t really know how to feel going into the meeting. The initial meeting will always feel more like an interview than anything. The most important part as a bride or groom talking to the planner to be is to feel extremely comfortable knowing that this person can handle one of the most important days in life. From a planner’s perspective, there are a few things that we want to share to help the process go a little easier.
Although it is somewhat of an interview, there are a few items that you will want to have prepared prior to the meeting. Here they are:
- Budget – understand exactly how much money is available to be spent for the day of the wedding and any events leading up to or after the event
- Design – it is important, even if you are not interested in the majority of the planning process, to know things that you like or even things that you don’t like. It is our job to make sure that your wedding reflects you, your style and your personality.
- Venue – wether you know your venue or not, ideas about what you are looking for will help us to know where to suggest
- Involvement – know exactly how much or how little involvement you would like to be involved in the wedding planning process. This will dictate how much or little you will need your wedding planner around for certain tasks.
Always know that your planner (or at least BTS) is always there to help you and not make things difficult. It is a huge part in your life and we want to make it the best you ever had imaged it to be. We love weddings, we love love, and we love happiness and will all those things in mind – we always plan for a fairytale and dream come true!
